This is the recipe for delicious cookies with festive spices, honey and glowing crystals. They are soft in the inside and a bit crunchy on the outside when they are fresh. But they do get softer with time.

The picture really doesn’t do them justice, because you can’t see the glitter, but I assure you, it is there. They look so much better in real life. They sparkle nicely as we garnished them with sugar. I love that these cookies are really aromatic and these are very special and perfect for the upcoming holidays.

Sparkling Honey Cookies

Cook Time 2 hours
Servings 2 baking trays

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of flourâ €
  • half a bag of baking powder / 7 gramsâ €
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger powderâ €
  • 1 teaspoon of cloves powderâ €
  • 1,5 teaspoons of cinnamon powderâ €
  • 0,5 teaspoon of nutmeg powderâ €
  • pinch of saltâ €
  • 150 grams of butterâ €
  • 100 grams of granulated sugarâ €
  • 60 grams of honeyâ €
  • 1 eggâ €
  • vanilla essenceâ €
  • 40 grams of granulated sugar to sparkle it up

Instructions

  • Mix soft butter with sugar to make it creamy, then add egg, vanilla flavor and honey and stir.â €
  • In another bowl combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt.) Then add dry ingredients into prepared butter mixture to connect all the ingredients. It comes out sticky.â €
  • Place the dough for 1 hour in the fridge.â €
  • With the help of a teaspoon and your hands shape little balls and roll them in sugar then place on a baking tray with baking paper. Leave some space between the cookie balls as they will spread. â €
  • Bake at 170 degrees Celsius for up to 12 minutes or when you see they get a little color at the bottom edge. Take them out of the oven and allow to cool and harden, then they can be moved.
