Easy cake made out of millet and raisins.

This cake is very tasty, despite being sweet, contains quite a few nutrients. So it’s not that bad of a choice.

You can enjoy it warm or cold. I hope you will try it.

Millet cake with raisins

Cook Time 1 hour 5 minutes
Servings 12 pieces

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of millet
  • 4 dl of milk (+ 4 deciliters of water)
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • A little of lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon of rum
  • 60 grams of sugar
  • 60 grams of sugar
  • A little of vanilla aroma
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  • First cook millet porridge in milk to which you need to add4 deciliters of water. Cook for about 15 minutes to soften and thicken the porridge. Then set it aside and allow cooling.
  • After this separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites in hard snow. Add sugar to the yolks and beat until creamy. Then add the melted butter (be careful not to get it too hot), rum, lemon zest and vanilla flavoring and stir.
  • Add chilled millet porridge and raisins to the yolks and stir.
  • Finally, gently stir in the snow and pour it into a round baking tray (diameter 26 cm) with baking paper underneath.
  • Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes until the cake rises and gets a bit brown.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
