The best and easy to make at home chocolate treat for when you really need a sugar boost. There is a lot of butter, sugar and chocolate in here and it’s why it makes this dessert so good, so don’t try to reduce the quantities. Just have one piece instead of two if you are worried about the calories.

You can make regular brownies by following the recipe and bake it for 35 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius. Make sure it completely cools off before slicing.

But you can also add additional treats to make it even more delicious. Like nuts, chocolate drops and fruit like I did on these photos, just make sure you add a couple of minutes more to the baking time if you have lots of fruit.

The top should be crunchy, the bottom should hold together nicely and the middle must be gooey and soft. It will dry out if you bake it for too long, so be careful.

If you are checking with a toothpick there should be just a little of dough trace on it, if there is none you already over baked it.

Brownies

Cook Time 1 hour
Servings 1 baking tray (36x21.5 cm)

Ingredients

  • 150 grams of flour
  • 1 tea spoon of salt
  • 2 table spoons of cocoa powder
  • 310 grams of dark chocolate
  • 230 grams of butter
  • 200 grams of granulated sugar
  • 200 grams of brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • Vanilla aroma

Toppings:

  • 130 grams of raspberries
  • 60 grams of chocolate drops
  • 80 grams of almonds

Instructions

  • Put chocolate and butter in a pot and melt it on low heat. Stir and make sure it doesn’t start to boil.
    When it is melted, add in sugar and check that the mixture is not too hot (wait and cool it down if it is), because now you need to whisk in eggs, one by one. Also add in vanilla aroma.
  • Put flour, salt and cocoa powder in a bowl and stir then add it to the chocolate mixture while whisking.
  • Pour the batter in baking tray with baking paper. I used baking tray size 36x21,5 cm.
    Now you can add any toppings if you want. I used chopped almonds, chocolate drops and frozen raspberries that I defrosted. Just sprinkle it on top.
  • Bake it in preheated oven on 180 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes (a couple of minutes more if you used fruit). Take it out of the oven and leave to cool down, then slice and serve.
