Put sunflower oil in a pot and heat it up. While you are waiting just mix all other ingredients. Start with eggs, add sugar, vanilla, pinch of salt, mix and then mix in milk and at the end add flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
Drizzle a little of batter in the oil to test if it is hot enough to make bubbles around it. Make sure it’s not smoking hot. There are more ways to pour the batter in oil.You can use a fennel. Add batter (enough for one cake) to a funnel while you keep your finger at the bottom hole. Bring the funnel over the hot oil and release your finger to start a stream of batter while moving the funnel in a circular motion to create spiral-like shapes.Or you can use a piping bag, like I did. I just added the batter to a strong plastic bag, made a knots at the top and cut off one edge (smaller hole). I brought it over the hot oil and it basically runs out on its own, so turn it up when you want it to stop. Make sure you do circle moves to shape it into a nest.
Fry until it’s lightly brown on the bottom side, then flip it over and fry on the other side too. Make sure you drain it well and bring it to a paper towel to soak up the extra oil. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve. Add more toppings if you want.
